Why do swimming pools smell like stinky feet?

all of the chemicals that are in the pool cause a certain odor which (i guess) can be called stinky feet. one of the chemicals they put in there is chlorine which has a very strong scent.

Very poor water chemistry or chemical balance. Neglect !

However even carefully kept pools may have an awful odor! Why?
