What weight oil to use in a 86 Gl1200 Goldwing?

I recomend 20/50

You may use 20W50 in hot climates, but I have been using 10W40 which is the recommened oil by Honda, for many years with out a problem in my 1200. I do use the Honda brand and have never had any problems with the clutch or stator.
