Iron can exhibit two different oxidation number viz; 2, ^ 3.

For iron ;2; it is Fe(NO3)2 - Ferrous nitrate

For iron '3; it is Fe(NO3)2 - Ferric nitrate.

Note the different number of nitrate anions .
