As of my last update, the tallest person in the United States is Robert Wadlow, who was 8 feet 11 inches tall. He lived from 1918 to 1940 and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the tallest person ever recorded. Currently, the tallest living person in the U.S. is Sultan Kösen, who measures 8 feet 2.8 inches. His height is due to a condition called gigantism, resulting from an overproduction of growth hormone.
