Why does a 1998 dodge caravan it over heat and blows out cold air from the heater?

replace the thermostat which is located in the housing that the top radiator hose attches to the engine

With my car, it was Heater matrix clogged with radiator sealant. The workshop cleaned it and it's start working fine!
