How did Doritos get their name?

"little bits of gold Doritos, which translated means "little bits of gold," originally launched in 1966 and has since grown into one of America's leading food brands with more than $1.5 billion in annual U.S. sales. The name was a translation of Oro/ dorado meaning gold or guilded and the diminutive Ito for small.
