How do the beliefs of the Amish help them to deal with murder and forgiveness of the criminal who shot their children?

The Amish believe that if the criminal wouldn't have shot there children, then they would have died some other way, personally I think that is a strange way of thinking, but they believe that God called them and it was there time to go. So the criminal, in a way, was performing God's will, in there eyes.
