Does the W bring any value to the half dollar?

The W on a Walking Liberty half isn't a mint mark. It's the monogram of A. A. Weinman who designed the coin, so it doesn't affect its value in any way.

The mint mark is at roughly the 8:00 position on the back of the coin - blank, D, or S.
