The Garrison Dam, located on the Missouri River in North Dakota, is one of the largest earth-filled dams in the United States. It stands 214 feet tall and stretches approximately 5,300 feet in length. The dam creates Lake Sakakawea, which is the third-largest man-made lake in the U.S., with a surface area of around 160,000 acres.
