What are some common misconceptions about children that are being fostered?

One is that they are bad children, they are far from it... they were just in a bad situation. In my experience I have learned that love, safety, support, honesty and talking goes a long way with my foster kids. Another is that just one or two bad things have happened to them, with my foster kids they have lived a life that most people could not even begin to imagine --- abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, abandonment, beatings, starvation and the list goes on and on. Amazingly though, love is a powerful tool and they really just want to feel safe and have a fun childhood. Rules go a long way too. All kids need boundaries.
