How do you round off nearest thousands?

To round a number to the nearest thousand, first identify the hundreds digit (the third digit from the right). If this digit is 5 or greater, round up by adding 1 to the thousands digit and changing the digits to the right of it to zero. If the hundreds digit is less than 5, simply keep the thousands digit the same and change all digits to the right to zero.
