Why do you have to be 13 to join Answers.com?

The reason is the law - called COPPA - that protects children.

Under the COPPA rule, you cannot post personal information on sites, including the profile page here, and including email, or anything that would identify who you really are or where you really live, like your name, your siblings, or your school.

Being involved in some of the groups requires personal information, so people under 13 are not allowed to join those groups.

There is an exciting team for teens aged 13-18, called the WIT team. When you turn 13, you can join that group.
