Keratometer is a device, which can be use to measure the curvature of the Cornea, in order to fit the contact lenses on it. The result ofcourse, is believed to measured only the Corneal Power and Astigmatism of the outer surface of the cornea, but there is a way to calculate the total Astigmatism amount for the eyeball, with using the Javal's law.

There are 2 ways to write the result of Keratometry, which are standard.

for example, we have calculated an amount for an eye like this:

43.00@90 & 46.00@180 => the Clinical result : -3.00X90 ATR (against the rule)

Now, to write the standard prescriotion, there are 2 way:

1- 43.00/46.00@180

2- 46.00X90

"@" Means Meridian

"X" Means Axis
