What are some facts about Hephaestus?

- Hephaestus' mother thought he was ugly. She threw him from the top of Mount Olympus. It took him two days until he reached the sea and started floating. This fall gave him a broken leg.

- Ares, Hephaestus' brother, was seen having an affair with Aprhodite. Hephaestus' saw this and reported it to the other gods. He was very angry.

- Hephaestus is usually seen with a sledge hammer, an axe, and even fire.

His birth was unusual because Hera didn't have the help from a man, parthenogenic birth.

Mount Etna in present day Sicilly is said to be the workshop of Hephaestus, it is said that when sparks come out from the volcano, or when it smokes Hephaestus is at work.
