Why is the FDA so corrupt?

If the FDA is corrupt, it probably results from funding being reduced by the government and the very people who create new drugs, crops through genetic engineering, etc having to pay a portion of the costs to test those new products.

In addition, corruption could occur due to their hiring practices, such as hiring employees from biotech companies to high places within the agency.

And corruption could occur due to laws that are passed and/or people who are hired into high-level government positions.
