When you start windows XP you cannot see the start menu or desktop icons only the desktop wallpaper you were able to access the internet through the button on your keyboard?

hit Windows key or CTRL + ESC to go to start, control panel,open, click taskbar and start menu, mark the box that says lock the task bar and mark keep task bar on top of other Windows, it may say apply and ok, click both
