Who was involved in the Suez canal crisis and why?

Egypt, Israel, Britain and France were invovled. Eygyptian leader Nasser wanted to nationalize the canal which was very important to British and French trade. When they heard the news they both and Israel attacked to capture it . The US and Russia threaten to use nuclear weapon against the aggeressors. But on the insistence of the UN they backed off and Egypt went on to complete the operation.
