How long should you wait after bleaching your hair to straighten it?

my hairstylist told me to wait about 2-3 days before applying ANY heat to it. she even said to try to wash my hair in cool water. i just had my hair bleached and dyed auburn. i'm so anxious to straighten it, but i'm going to wait it out.
