How do you stop pinging in a 1995 xlt ranger up hills?

There isn't a way to from my understanding. Its a Ford thing. My 99' Ranger 3.0 Manual does it too. I have talked to pros and they said it doesnt hurt anything. Try mid or top grade fuel if you want to stop to some degree.
