John J. Dempsey (born June 22, 1879 in White Haven, Pennsylvania; died March 11, 1958 in Washington DC) succeeded John E. Miles as the thirteenth Governor of New Mexico, serving between January 1, 1943 and January 1, 1947, including the whole of 1945.
