How much do you prune snowball bushes?

Snowball bushes, or viburnum, should be pruned in late winter or early spring, just before new growth begins. It's best to remove about one-third of the oldest stems to encourage new growth and maintain a healthy shape. Light pruning can also be done after flowering to remove spent blooms and shape the plant. Avoid heavy pruning, as it can reduce flowering in the next season.
