Why do people say King Hezekiah asked God for a longer life when the Bible does not say that?

People say that, because it's implicit in 2 Kings ch.20. Hezekiah was close to death, he prayed to God, and was promised more years of life (2 Kings 20:1-6), which implies clearly that his prayer included the request for further years of life.
