Why scientist experiment with animals?

Experiments on animals are done to animals because they have a much higher reproductive rate than humans and can obtain several generations of animals, especially rats or mice, over just one year. Emotional values towards such animals is not shared by most people either, regardless of the arguments that many of you may have against this if this answer is read.
