How do you make a working model of elevator?

A working model an elevator can easily be fabricated through toys, wheels, weights string, basic hardware, and woodworking skills. An L shape frame can be built with a turning pulley on top. This will resemble a small crane. A strong yarn or wire will run through the pulley. On one side it will be secured to a counterweight, and on the other a block. The block will be demonstrative of an actual elevator's cargo being lifted. Through these common items a working model of an elevator in principal can be built.
