What are the advantages in viewing manufacturing as a system?

Manufacturing is what it is, regardless what you call it. But as far as Words go, and their Definitions, A system is prone to Failures, whereas a Method, is a strict set of operational rules, whereas a Process is a means to a end. So Manufacturing is a Process, not a System, and not a Method, lest you consider the Process, the Method for Manufacturing. And in the End, perhaps it's all three.
