It is important because if there is only one person working it lead to law of diminishing returns, depending on the labor, but continuing to apply effort or skill to a project will decline in effectiveness after a certain level of result has been achieved. If several people are working then there is the division of labor, each person gets a certain task that completes the project in a more effective way.
