Strike from case management call allowed?

In a legal sense, a case management conference is called by a judge with the attorneys who have cases scheduled before his court so that he can manage his docket. These are generally informal meetings and an attorney may be excused from attending them with proper notification to the judge. The defendant is neither required nor expected to attend these 'case management calls.'
