What is the main problem Odysseus faces while travelling by sea?

His main problem is on his way back from Calypso releasing him, Poseidon returns from his time being away and finds out what the gods had been doing while he was gone. Poseidon is angry to see Odysseus get away so he sends a crashing wave destroying his ship and sending him underwater.
