Not every house has an attic (or a basement)! Look for a square on the ceiling or a staircase leading to the attic.

Attics differ in every society. Some are left empty, with just the rafters and insulation. Other attics have a floor, or are "finished" on the inside. Every attics has either Windows or vents.

Often, animals and birds take up residence in attics, where it is safe to make a nest for their young. Some animals and birds include:
