How did the panic of 1857 make civil war more likely?

It made the Civil War more likely in that there were several issues already to begin with. There were slavery issues, tariff issues, and more. The South was beginning to become impatient and wanted to suceede from the union. The Panic of 1857 gave them hope and an irrelevant size of opportunity in keeping their slaves.
