Who was Abdul - queen Victoria's friend?

Abdul Karim was a close attendant and confidant of Queen Victoria, serving as her Munshi (teacher) in Urdu and Indian culture. He arrived in Britain from India in 1887 and quickly formed a strong bond with the queen, providing her with insights into Indian customs and traditions. Their friendship, however, faced criticism from the royal court and was often viewed with suspicion. Abdul remained a significant figure in Queen Victoria's later years until her death in 1901.
