How do you erase pen off a book?

I haven't tested this on a book myself, but I have tested it on paper (computer printer type) and it worked. I guess it would depend on the type of paper concerned, but hairspray will make permanent ink bubble to the surface of material and you can then gently dab away with an absorbent material. Tammy
