you can always refuse a sobriety test no matter what state, but when u do so the fine u get is nonnegotiable.
======
Most states have what are known as implied consent laws, where, by driving on public roadways within that state, you essentially acknowledge your consent to be rendered a field sobriety test if pulled over. Refusing to take a field sobriety test will lead to arrest, and a good chance that a warrant will be obtained for them to take a BAC reading by means of involuntary blood test, as well as additional charges.
