Depends on your profession. My Grandfather worked for a dairy in 1912 delivering milk. He earned a $1.50 (that's a dollar & fifty cents) a day. That's a whopping $550 a year. No insurance, no vacation, no sick leave, no overtime, no nothing. You either worked, or no pay. Spring forward in time to 1972. I earned $1.85 an hour, that's $75 bucks a week, working in a factory. I got one weeks vacation and some very poor health insurance. When I retired in 2008, I was earning a little over $1000 per week as an RN. That is 100 times more per year than my Grandfather. Not a 100% more, but a 100 times more. People make it in this great country because of self reliance and hard work, something Obama does not seem to understand!
