Sod houses were built where there were no trees for logs or lumber. A typical sod house was about four meters wide by five and a half meters long. The sod house could have one room or two.
The floor is hard packed clay earth. Stack the strips of sod on top of each other like bricks for the walls. The roof is usually flat without a tilt cover the roof with poles or sticks (ice cream sticks) and pile sod on top. Use oiled paper for the Windows. Put it outside and the sun will dry it into a hard clay texture.
