You may need an outsider (like a minister or counselor) to help with the conversation. Lots of times, parents don't realize how "grown up" their children are, so you have to do your best to act mature and responsible -- especially if your parents aren't very mature and responsible themselves!
Agree before you start that you won't interrupt each other. It may be easier to talk to them one-on-one, rather than trying to manage a conversation among the three of you!
Show your parents you're listening by "saying back" what you heard in your own Words. For example, if they say "Only married people should have sex," you can respond with "Are you saying you want me to remain a virgin until I marry Mr. (or Miss) Right?" This is not a challenge -- you're trying to be sure you heard them correctly and understand what they said. It may be tough to do this at first, but if you "model" good listening skills, they may start following your lead.
Try not to get angry -- that only makes the conversation harder. But if you really can't deal with what they're saying, it's okay to say, "Maybe we should talk about this later."
If your parents "just don't get it," you can say, "I guess I didn't explain myself very well. Let me try again."
Good luck, and don't give up!
