Mac OS X Public Beta, codenamed Kodiak, was designed to run on Macintosh computers with at least a G3 processor, 128 MB of RAM, and 1.5 GB of available disk space. It required a compatible graphics card and was optimized for use with 32-bit applications. The beta version was primarily intended for developers and early adopters to test the new features of the upcoming OS.
