What kind of abdominal masses can be located by abdominal ultrasound?

Abnormal growths--tumors, cysts, abscesses, scar tissue, and accessory organs--can be located and tentatively identified with ultrasound. In particular, potentially malignant solid tumors can be distinguished from benign fluid-filled cysts
