Is acrylic resin a type of polyurethane resin?

They are different types of plastics and acrylic is typically used to make clear sheets like Perspex, Plexiglas, Lucite and aircraft canopies. Polyurethane is more flexible and typically used in layup resins with Fibreglass to make boat hulls and car bodies.
