Diamante Poems are seven lined poems that are in a diamond shape. The form was developed by Iris Tiedt in A New Poetry Form: The Diamante (1969). Line1- One Word (noun) that contrasts the Word in Line 7

Line 2-Two Words (adjectives) that describe the Word in Line 1 and can NOT end in "ing"

Line 3-Three Words (action verbs) ending in "ing" that relate to the Word in Line 1

Line 4- Four Words (nouns), first two Words relate to Line 1, the last two Words relate to Line 7

Line 5-Three Words (action verbs)ending in "ing"that relate to the Word in Line 7 Line 6-Two Words (adjectives) that describe the Word in Line 7 and can NOT end in "ing"

Line 7-One Word (noun) that contrasts the Word in Line 1 For example: Fire Bright, Warm Glowing,Heating,Burning Inferno, Flame, Frost, Blizzard Chilling, Cooling,Freezing Cold, Frozen Ice
