Plasterboard, also known as drywall or gypsum board, is made by sandwiching a core of gypsum plaster between two sheets of heavy paper. The gypsum is mixed with water and additives to create a slurry, which is then spread onto the paper sheets. Once the layers are assembled, the board is dried in a controlled environment to remove moisture, and then cut into standard sizes for distribution. Finally, the edges may be treated to enhance durability and ease of installation.
