Where is African on a map?

'African' is an adjective in the English Language.

I think you mean 'Africa;'

It is the land mass to the south of Europe, across the Mediterranean Sea. It has the Atlantic Ocean to its west, and the Indian Ocean to its east. To its south across the Antarctic Ocean is the continent of Antarctic, with the South Pole.

Africa straddles four artificial quarters of the world. viz. the Northern Hemisphere, the Southern Hemisphere; the Equator separating them.

Also the Eastern hemisphere and the Western Hemisphere, with the 'zero meridian ( 0 o Longitude)' separating them .
