Theoretically yes. I am not a biochemist. But if I remember correctly THC (the part of marijuana tested for usually) is fat soluble. Meaning it can be stored in fat cells long after a person has stopped smoking it. To do it would mean the person would have had to have THC stored in fat cells and recently worked out or burned those fat cells so that the THC would be released back into the bloodstream. I know that many people try not to work out a day or two before and up to the tests.
