Where did mammoths sleep?

Mammoths, like elephants, didn't have any sort of shelter and they didn't seek out caves or other places to hide in. When they slept, they were kept warm by their long fur and thick fat layer. Perhaps they also huddled together when it was cold, similar to modern penguins.
