Pre-hypertension, or elevated blood pressure that is not yet in the hypertensive range, can be caused by a combination of factors including lifestyle choices, such as a high-sodium diet, lack of physical activity, obesity, and excessive alcohol consumption. Genetic predisposition and age also play significant roles, as blood pressure tends to increase with age. Additionally, chronic stress and certain medical conditions, such as Diabetes and kidney disease, can contribute to the development of pre-hypertension.
