What is the type of fishing knot used to tie a hook length to a hook?

it realy depends on what type of fishing you are doing and what u are reffering to as a hook lenght if you are refering to the spooled line itself ur probaly good with a uni knot especialy if u are fishing for smaller fish. if u are refering to a leader then it depends on what leader and size ect. what i normally use is a bimini twist atached to a swivel atached to a lenght of heavy monofilament leader that is crimped on both ends so there is no knot. i use this for rigging fresh balihoo, artificial squids, lures, feathers, all kinds of stuff.
