What is an Australian cowboy hat called?

Australia has neither cowboys, nor cowboy hats.

It has stockmen, jackaroos and jillaroos (seriously) but it does not have cowboys. These people wear wide-brimmed hats, usually made of rabbit skin or kangaroo leather. Kangaroo keather is favoured because it is durable and long-lasting. They are commonly just referred to as bush hats.

The most common brand in Australia, and originating in the Australian island state of Tasmania, is the Akubra. Other common brands include Barmah and Jacaru.
