No, God does not make people gay. People choose to be gay. God made people so that a man would love a woman and vice-versa.

AnswerThe homophobic answerer of the previous post should be ashamed. People do not choose to be gay. We do not understand yet why some people are born gay or develop homosexual tendencies at puberty. Some say that it there are psychological factors, sociological factors, or even a 'gay gene'.

People do not choose to be gay any more than people choose to be black, white, blonde, brunette or male or female.

When Jesus walked this earth in human form he accepted everyone. He ate with the tax collector, and consorted with the prostitute - and they chose their proffessions. More than that he had compassion for and ministered to the outcasts and oppressed of society - the leper, the blind, the lame all of whom the bigoted rulers believed were in that state because they were 'sinners'. Yet these people did not choose their lifestyle any more or less than a gay person chooses his/her affinities.

Did God make people gay? We don't know, but what we DO know is that everyone - the gay and the straight - and even the bigoted and prejudiced of the first answer - are all made in God's image. So, in a sense, if he can make the hypocrites who vent out their own bigotry and use 'scripture' (taken out of context) to somehow back up their own prejudices, then he can make gay people too.
