No, you should not drink while taking pain relievers. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. These drugs all have a risk of causing internal bleeding in the stomach and intestines. This risk is doubled if you drink alcohol because alcohol has exactly the same risk.

Although Diclofenac will not directly interact with alcohol it is a known irritant to the lining of the stomach. Alcohol can exacerbate this leading to severe indigestion/heartburn and not uncommonly gastric bleeding. Long term users of Diclofenac often end up having to take Omeprazole or similar to prevent these very reactions as the Diclofenac is such a serious irritant. Don't take it on an empty stomach, and if you must drink alcohol drink it in moderation with food.
