In the Flannery O'Connor short story, ' Good Country People,' the main character of Hulga, is sure she has all the answers to life, and that others don't come close to having an understanding of themselves as she does. The irony is that it is really Hulga who is the most clueless about who she is, yet she is unable to see it. She calls others stupid, yet she fails to see the true intentions of a suitor, who is part of a group she considers as stupid, makes a complete fool out of her. Thus, showing her stupidity.
